NKUT Super Adoption
What is NKUT Super Adoption?
It’s a cooperative effort in which shelters and rescue groups come together in a free, fun, festival-like atmosphere to find homes for hundreds of animals during a weekend. The participating shelters and rescue groups are members of Best Friends–Utah’s NKUT Coalition. Generally held twice a year, NKUT Super Adoption is the continuation of a 20-year run of large adoption events in Salt Lake City, called Pet Super Adoptions, which began in 2000.
A brand new location!
We're excited to bring this event to a brand new indoor/outdoor location this spring: the Legacy Events Center in Davis County. It's incredibly convenient to get to -- just off I-15 (Lagoon Exit) and Highway 89, and with a nearby FrontRunner stop at Farmington Station. This beautiful indoor/outdoor space should be just the right one to match hundreds of homeless pets with their new families!
What to expect
Expect to have a lot of fun, and to meet nearly 800 adorable, adoptable cats, dogs and rabbits. Each participating rescue group and shelter at the event has its own adoption application, interview process and adoption fee structure. Adoption fees help cover costs such as spay/neuter, vaccinations and other medical needs. Please note that all participating shelters and many of the participating rescue groups offer same-day adoptions, but some groups require home checks as part of the application process. Potential adopters should come prepared with a valid form of identification and payment. If you’re a renter, it’s a good idea to have a letter from your landlord stating that you are allowed to have a pet. We welcome well behaved and socialized dogs on fixed leashes and under adult control in all areas except the cat building. Meet-and-greet-areas will be staffed by volunteers and specialists who can help with introductions.
